I entered “II” in the yellow divisi section, but it shows up as “I I” instead. How can I fix this?
Also, where can I set the indent for divisi? I tried adjusting it in the options, but it doesn’t change.
The default divisi staff labels should give this (if you’re condensing):
or this without the staff labels:
Isn’t it what you’re looking for?
There are two kinds of divisi labels. Section names (red), divisi change (blue):
Section names are displayed on the left hand side of the staff, like staff labels ; divisi change are displayed above the staff.
I want it to be next to it, like red.
So you must show the section names on each system (Layout Options)
But if you condense, you’ll get 1 & 2 on each, even if just 1 or just 2 is singing (the divisi change above the staff will show which section is active)
If you want something like this:
I could be wrong but I’m afraid you need to disable condensing, and to manually hide empty staves (so, you should do this at the very end of your work). And also you might want to hide divisi change labels:
And if you want roman numerals, I think there isn’t an option for it, so must edit the section names when you create your divisi:
Result:
I made the divisi checkmarks the same. This score is not condensed. I used Roman numerals, but they are not appearing outside — they are buried in the score.
Even when I set it to ‘Full’ for subsequent systems, the name still gets split up. On the first system, ‘Soprano’ appears correctly when set to full. Could this be because I changed the player from a single instrument to a section player and then used ‘Propagate Part Formatting’? Is that why the divisi doesn’t display properly either?
There are too many things that don’t seem to work as expected — I’m afraid we need your file if you would like someone to help you correctly!
