Divisi staff labels spacing.dorico (2.3 MB)

The spacing of the staff labels on the first page is fine, but where do I adjust the spacing of the divisi staff labels on the second page? If I adjust it in the Engraving option, it will affect them all. Where do I adjust the spacing for divisi alone?
Is it possible to space the instrument names differently on the first page and the rest of the pages?

I looked at your project file, and I’m confused by your divisi. It looks like you’ve divided the first violins into just one group. What are you trying to do, and what do you want the score to look like?

Like @asherber , I don’t understand your use of divisi. Divisi is meant to split the players of a section into multiple parts !

That said, if:

• you reset these two values to the factory ones (i. e. 3)
  
  
• and you reset the alignment of your staff labels to right-aligned in Paragraph Styles (it’s set to left in your project — that’s why the staff labels are so far from the staves on the first page when you use the standard offset)
  
  

…then you’ll get something like this:

Then, you can increase a bit the distance value if you wish (here: 4)

Then you can keep your settings and add 4 spaces after the “I” in your divisi staff label:

Not a very elegant solution but it works:

(Even if I still don’t understand the meaning of this “I”!)
