DMX - post 2.0.23 report

Most say that with the 2.0.23 update, programing DMX lights renders more reliable results.

Having said that, there is still work to be done. The following is a list of bugs that needs to be taken care:

DMX Bugs post ver. 2.0.23

1- Playing back DMX tracks sometimes (randomly) misses some instructions, although notably better than before 2.0.23, it still needs a little work.

2- When programming (editing) DMX tracks, in order for the changes to take effect, most of the time I have to save and relaunch VST Live. Most mention that if I copy or move clips, relaunch the app is not needed
3- When drawing lines with DMX (snap to grid disabled), sometimes it inserts many points rendering smooth transitions, and sometimes it inserts to few points creating a step like transitions. I notice that it dependes on the lenght of the line (beats-bars) and the range of the transition (a line from 1 to 255 renders many points making a transition smoother vs a line from 25 to 100 that renders too few points and renders step like transitions.
Is there a way to draw a continuos line without points?

Suggestions:

1- Drawing lines by inserting a value for the first point, and a value for the last point.
2- A tool to draw curves
3- Be able to name the channels with the fixture personality.

Thanks

Number of points depend of snap and quantize values. Yf you disable quantize and snap, the line tools still snap to the values selected, but don’t quantize in few points, instead draws continuous points in line.

We tested this a lot, can you be more specific? Is it a certain constellation, or only with ramps, or…any hint is welcome.

Thanks, I’ll check on that.

I will try my best to pinpoint the issue, Wont be easy, as it is very random, and not nearly as noticeable as before.
Thanks

Can confirm, my experience is that DMX events are reaching my pixels better as any before

… thank you. You can still “see” it with the DMX Mixer as an Output? The same project you gave us some days ago?

/Michael.

No, the test project works 100% fine.

… maybe you have again a small project which shows the problem?

Michael.

Hello,
I will try to make a video, and then send you the project.
Thanks
