I’ve just installed Cubase Pro 13 and most of the Absolute 6 instruments and assumed that I wouldn’t need HALion Sonic 7 as I’ve installed the full version. However, Trip and Flux are missing from the full version! I have Cubase installed on two machines and my other Mac was set up before I purchased Absolute 6 today. I thought I was going crazy, so checked and sure enough they’re there in HALion Sonic 7 on that Mac, but they’re not there in the full HALion 7 install on my other Mac! will installing the HALion Sonic 7 content put them there? Please help! Thanks!
My first step would be to install Sonic 7. But then I’d also install Sonic 3 SE for good measure. I have the libraries for all these installed.
I’d also check the VSTSound/HALion folder and maybe try to copy the files in the one to the other. After that’s done, double-click any file in that folder and the HALion Library Manager will pop up and you can register any new files.
And that is the limit of my knowledge!
I’ve since looked at the online manual for the full version of HALion 7 and - oddly - it seems that Flux and Trip are NOT included. They’re certainly not listed in the included instruments section.
I’ve since installed HALion 7 on the Mac that already had HALion Sonic 7 installed on it and both Flux and Trip show up in the full HALion 7. I guess my logic of thinking that all versions of HALion 7 would have the same basic content with the full version having the most (with nothing missing) was wrong! It seems you need both HALion Sonic 7 AND HALion 7 to gain access to Flux and Trip. Very strange!
I’ve a sneaking suspicion that Trip and Flux are the freebies that give you a taste of what HALion can do. They used come with Sonic 3 SE. Since Sonic 7 is now the freebie, they’ve been put there.
