Just received my new UR22C to replace the older version.
What are the benefits of installing the software on a MAC, do I really need the tools?
I am not immediately interested in effects and I suppose the USB driver would be beneficial but do I need to install all the software to get the USB driver ?
No, you don’t need them.
Yamaha tools maybe if you want to take full advantage of the interface.
The bycatch is a nice to have - but if you don’t need it, avoid it.
Most VSTs do have equivalent counterparts on the market.
In my case, it’s installation and activation procedure was just horrible and laboriuos in every single aspect… Really annoying.
They really need to overhaul the process as well as the amount of apps needed fort that.
