Documentation of the Score Editor

Wow - I have many questions - too many to list here.
Is there a documentation? You cannot compare to the old Score editor and not to Dorico. It is something between both.

For example,
how to display 2 connected half notes as a whole note

how can you reverse the note stems?

How can automatic articulation be applied not only globally but also section-wise?

And so on

The Score Editor follows the default set of notation options and beat groupings. Whether a single sounding note displays as tied, depends entirely on the position within a bar. I may also just misunderstand your question, maybe a screenshot would help.

Score menu, “Flip”

This is a setting that can be applied for each track (Instrument Settings, Interpretation section), but not any more fine grained.

I just played around for 2 hours and found out a lot.
The manual will also explain a lot.
It’s a shame that the automatic articulation interpretation doesn’t work via markings. I’ll keep testing.

Oh, today morning my barlines disappeared.
I definitely didn’t save it like that last night.

At least I now know how to write polyphonically and have also experienced how finely the staccato recognition reacts. There is only a very short length range in which the staccato point is set automatically. So far I have never achieved legato.

My main question is, is it possible to make the voice assignment dependent on the MIDI channels?

That was possible in the old editor.

Another observation: If the note stems are automatically set up or down, it works. The counterparts as a forced action do not work.

Is it possible to design the rests like that:

Not sure why the barlines disappeared. I assume the signature track still shows the initial time signature?
Could you possibly attach the cubase project file here, so we can take a look?

Voice assignment via midi channels is gone, you can now set them independently.

The rhythmic grouping of notes and rests relies on teh default notation options. There isn’t anything further exposed to change that in the Cubase Score Editor. We may extend that at a future point, but if the current settings don’t work at all for you, you could consider integrating Dorico into your workflow.

the tip about the time signature was good.
For some reason, there was a crash when closing Cubase last night, which also introduced a bar offset (in the project). This morning, the ASIO settings also had to be reconfirmed.

The bar offset has now been removed and the lines are back.
Strangely, however, only from bar 2 onwards, when the parts are moved to bar one, do the lines disappear again, even though 4/4 of bar 0 applies.

Assigning voices to MIDI channels was not a burden for me, but actually helpful, because with my multi-channel keyboard the manuals were distributed correctly straight away, 2 voices in the lower system and 1 in the upper system. I then edited it afterwards.

Maybe I can find a shortcut in Cubase that turns channels into voices.

excellent. Watch out though for multi stave instruments. The Voice applies to each stave separately.

My goal is more or less a Piano Score with 3-4 seperate Voices.
My Accordion is sending on 3 Channels at the same time
Treble (1)
Chord (3)
Bass (2)

When I play all together, I get a Piano Stave and all Voices are correctly distributed.
Now I have to click one Macro more - its ok for me.
