When adding a drum kit, either basic or full. The kit shows up in English when selecting in Setup, however the drum kit name is in German and all the component names are in German when editing the kit.
Are you talking about the instrument picker, or about the player’s name or instrument’s name in Setup mode? What is your UI language (set in Preferences >Global)?
Just to add my 2 cents to this topic:
Can we please have “Drum Set” as additional German name for the, well, drum set?
- It is totally common to have parts called “Drum Set” in otherwise German pieces.
- “Schlagzeug” is a the generic term that not only refers to the drum set but to the whole drums and percussion section.
Thanks!
(And please excuse me for adding to your thread.)
Kim, please go to the Language page of Engraving Options (or, if you have Dorico Elements, to the Library > Language Options dialog) and check the language chosen for instrument names there.
In setup mode, when I pick the instrument it says basic drum set or full drum set, but when it appears in the score it is in German, and it appears in German in the setup page. The language is english for my preference. All the other instruments are in english. When I choose them from the instrument picker in setup mode. And they appear in english in the score.
It sounds as if you might have saved the German name as a default at some stage. Try expanding the player card for the player holding the drum kit, and click the little … at the right-hand side of the label for the drum kit itself, then click Edit Names in the context menu. In the dialog that appears, click Reset to Factory and see if that restores the name to English.
Thanks, I’ll try that.
