Dorico 5.1.21 mf for 1st and f for 2nd repeat

I believed, two different dynamic playing instructions such as mf and f can be set at the beginning of a repetition now in Dorico 5. Then the first repetition shall be played back mf and the second repetition f (|: mf-f :|) shall be played. I saw this in a video

Dorico in German | Live premiere with Markus Hartmann on YouTube, see screenshot and link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-TolxIjvBc&t=2454s&ab_channel=Dorico (minute 45:32). I have Dorico 5.1.21 but I cannot put mf and f on the same note as in the video. Is it possible that this special possibility for dynamic instruction in repetitions is no longer possible in the current Dorico version?

You really have Dorico 2.1.21?

I think you have to place the mf and f on different rhythmic positions to get it to work.

Oh I see I have mentioned version 2 instead of 5, thanks I have corrected it in my message above. Exactly that is what I have done at the moment, I have set the 1st dynamic mf in the violin clef and the 2nd f in the bass clef. However in the above mentioned YouTube video both dynamics have been on the same note at the beginning of the repeat as one can see.

I would say, add the second dynamic at a different rhythmic position (e. g. on beat 2) and then move it to the desired position with Cmd/Ctrl-Alt-

I am just wondering how Markus from Steinberg has made it. If it was working with start of Dorico 5 only and if with later releases this possibility has been lost and one have to use now workarounds as you mention. I see, I must write a email directly to him.

IIRC Dorico has never allowed multiple dynamics to be created at the same grid position. However, I think it has always allowed dynamics to be moved to the same position.

With D5 we can now restrict playback of dynamics (and other objects) to specific passes (repeats).

I do not understand why you do this. Dynamics on different instruments do not affect each other. The only reason I can think of is that you are using a single grand staff instrument. Which begs another question… why?

It is only a piano piece I am working on. You are right, the solution is to enter the 2nd dynamic on the next note and move/shift it back to the beginning, then it plays the repeat the 2nd time in forte. Thanks for the solution.

(It is forum etiquette to assign the solution to the post that provides the solution - in this case @VIPStephan I think - because future searches will show that solution against your original post)

Thanks for the hint, Derrek has also made me aware of it and I have set the solution check at VIPStephan.

For your information also the feedback von Markus Hartmann . “The workaround described in the forum was also my way. Set the second dynamic to the next counting time and push it back so that it starts on the same counting time. Then align in notation mode.”
The credit goes to VIPStephan who has first proposed this solution.
