Dorico 5.1.6 not launching after once

Hello,
Since the latest 5.1.6 update, I have to restart my computer to be able to launch Dorico for the first time. If I quit then try to relaunch it, nothing happens. Does somebody has the same problem ? (on Windows 11 professional). Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!
Did you really quit Dorico? Maybe you only closed the hub window and Dorico is still running?

Have a look in the TaskManager, is there in the list of background processes a VSTAudioEngine process that is not responding? If so, kill it off and try again to launch Dorico.

Thank you both of you! I didn’t find any VST process, but when I relaunched Dorico, It appeared in the Task Manager, I killed it and could launch it normally after that. I guess Dorico is not quitting properly sometimes. Thanks!

@jc_polgar , please do from Dorico’s menu Help > Create Diagnostic Report and attach the corresponding zip file to a reply here.
I want to see if there are some crash files contained.
Thanks a lot

There are indeed VSTAudio crashes, but it’s too big to put it there (12 Mb)
Tell me how to send it to you.

Thanks for the data. There are two crash dumps of the audio engine and they show a crash in rthdasio64.dll. Googling for this finds that it is the Realtek ASIO driver. What if do from the menu Edit > Device Setup and there choose as driver the Steinberg Built-in ASIO driver? Does Dorico then behave better in terms of launching/shutting down?
