Dorico 5.1 Chord symbol placement

Could someone please help me with chord symbol placement in Dorico? I don’t understand why the first 3 chords in pno/gtr are so high compared to the bass, but then ok on the next page.

In previous scores, I would manually move them but then find in the parts that they are now sitting in the staff and have to move them again. I would like a default distance from the staff for all chords and then only adjust it when needed.

Thank you

Maybe there is something on the cut off part of the left page that makes them go this high?

Thanks, I know if there is a rehearsal letter or tempo etc, they may make the chords move, but there is nothing on the page. I’m just starting this chart, and there’s nothing on this page but the 4 rhythm section players.

If you don’t mind posting the actual project? I’d take a look for you!

Another, likely unrelated thought: This is the score, right? Or is the band supposed to play from these pages?
Normally, I at least wouldn’t want to have the chord symbols on top of every player…

Hi again Benji, yes this is the score. This is a bit of a sketch at the moment. Likely I will just have slashes for the piano, or slash rhythms at this point, and then no chords for the guitar when it’s playing the notated line.

It’s interesting, there are two bars previous where guitar and piano don’t play and I hide the chords:

But when I unhide the chords the other ones move down to the correct position.

Can you post the file? Even if you cut it down to just this one system and delete the horns and drums, having the file will make it easier to sleuth out what’s going on.

Hi Fred, could you please email me at allangillilandmusic.com and I’ll send you the file.

Thanks for taking the time to look at this.

It might turn out that this is an issue that could be valuable for other users to be able to read about. Are you willing to post (perhaps a cut-down version of) the file here for “the collective?”
