Hello, I installed Dorico 5 multiple times along with the sound libraries but no playback template shows in the menu. Playback works.
Dorico Diagnostics.zip (1.8 MB)
Welcome to the forum! I’m sorry that you’re having problems with playback.
It looks like you’re missing quite a bit of the HALion Sonic Selection content. Could you please try reinstalling that component via Steinberg Download Assistant?
Ive tried removing and reinstalling sonic selection multiole times through the download assistant and it keeps giving me the same problem, is there another way I can download the misisng files?
I suspect the files themselves may be installed, but they cannot be read. Ulf was working through a similar problem with another user in this thread: you could try following the same advice.
Hi. I think Daniel is referring to me I also recently had problems with the sound files, although the symptoms aren’t exactly matching yours.
What resolved it for me was as follows:
- Deinstall Dorico, including everything related to it (make sure you save all the bits you need to save first!)
- After de-installing, explicitly remove the following folders (using admin privilege if necessary):
a) YourUserName/AppData/Roaming/Steinberg (note that AppData is a hidden folder, so you might need to change a folder setting to see it)
b) C:/ProgramData/Steinberg
c) Any other Steinberg folders you can find ( I can’t remember whether there were any)
After cleaning things up, try re-installing Dorico. In my case, it sorted out a file-security setting (of which I still don’t know where it came from in the first place).
Good luck!
