Dorico 5 Pro stopped reacting to midi input/lost connection to audio

Hi there!

Dorico is an awesome software and my journey with it since version 1 has been pretty smooth.

I have no clue what happened today - Dorico ceased to react to any MIDI input. Even though it properly lists every audio and MIDI device in the app settings, when I click on Device setup in the Edit menu, the app says it can’t connect to an audio engine, and that seems to be the reason I have no MIDI input right now. Restarted Mac and reinstalled Dorico, tried to disconnect all USB audio devices, and left only the built-in Mac audio system - no positive results so far. I would appreciate your help very much.

I’m attaching the Dorico System Diagnostic file via a link - it’s more than 4 MB allowed here.

MacOs Sonoma 14.3
Dorico 5.1.10

Thank you!

PS I don’t see any VST Audio Engine running in MacOs processes when Dorico is launched.

Update. VST Engine is running until I click the VST Plugins menu in the app settings or Device Setup… It crashes right after those actions and that’s it.

Your diagnostic report contains lots of crash logs for Dorico’s audio engine. It looks as if NotePerformer is somehow causing a crash. Please check that you have the latest NotePerformer update installed; at the time of writing NotePerformer is at version 4.4.

If you still experience crashes after updating to the latest version of NotePerformer, please send your diagnostics to Wallander support – they should be able to determine what’s causing the crash.

Thank you so much, Daniel, for such a prompt response!! I will check my NotePerformer version.

Update. The issue seems to be resolved! NotePerformer is initializing properly and the VST Audio engine is not crashing.

Thank you.
