I have heard that a new mixer solution would be available in coming releases of Dorico so you could use the standaard mute en solo shortcuts. It was not in the description. Does anybody know?
Same question about the cantai plug in, which would make it possible to hear lyrics in playback.
From the Cantai team I understood they await some modification in Dorico to make it happen.
Cantai are still working on the Musescore VST (currently in alpha development). Even if Dorico v6 has implemented support for Cantai VST, Cantai is not ready, and due to their limited (near non-existent funds) it will not be imminent.
If you hear things about a new version of Dorico in advance of the release, and you heard it from somebody other than somebody who works at Steinberg, then you’re just hearing unsubstantiated rumour and speculation, so I would recommend you get your information directly from us.
There are no changes to the Mixer in Dorico 6.
We are in touch with Richard daCosta about support for Cantai. Dorico 6 supports lyrics in MIDI export, which will hopefully be helpful in making use of the Cantai web renderer. Closer integration with Cantai is coming, but I can’t at this stage say what form it will take, or precisely when it will come.
