After updating to Sequoia, playback becomes very un stable- in many cases it won’t be active, and when I try to activate it (by pressing the on/off toggle on the transport control) I get the spinning wheel and have to force quit.
Up to 10 MB you can send me directly to u dot stoermer at steinberg dot de
Or you could use a file sharing service like Drop Box, We Transfer, etc and post here a link to it. Thanks
Thanks for the data. Contained are also 6 crash dumps that show all the same pattern, namely the ARIA-Player plug-in is crashing Dorico’s audio engine. And if the audio engine is gone, also Dorico won’t function properly any more.
So I assume that if you use a project without ARIA, all will be fine. Is that correct?
hi friend, my advice stay on Sonoma, if possible to downgrade !! maybe comes less head pain.. applications for the world Apple takes a long time to be optimized !! Apple usually makes several changes to its internal system regarding the operating system, mainly SDKs
Difficult to say…first thing I’d try is checking for an updated Aria…
Other than that…notify the developers of Aria about it. Send them one of the *.ips files that you find in the CrashDumps folder within the DoricoDiagnostic.zip.
I have a project that used to have an Aria instrument playing, but I deleted Aria from the VST playback list on the file, re-asigned everything to NotePerformer, and it still freezes when I try to activate playback - anything I can do to keep using the file?
(I thought I did everything possible to avoid issues with Aria, but it still seems to affect Dorico).
Hi @roeeli , all I can say is that the ips you attached shows a crash in Aria player during initialization. So you better send that file to the makers of Aria to find a fix for it.
If your project still causes trouble although you deleted Aria from it, it shows that still some part must be pointing towards Aria.
Therefore please send me your original Dorico project for your case and I"ll see what I can do to about it..
So please do twofold : Send me your original project file via private message as well as a diagnostic report (Help > Creaate Diagnostic Report). Thanks a lot
ARIA Player should work perfectly well on Sequoia. Make sure you’re using the latest version: 2.026, available here:
After you’ve done that, install the latest version of Sforzando from Plogue. (Plogue are the people who made ARIA Player for MakeMusic. This will update the ARIA “Engine”, which is used by both products, to the latest version.)
It’s the night before Apple’s developer conference for the NEXT OS version. Most developers released updates for Sequoia in the autumn of 2024.
