In Dorico 5 I was able to edit text frames content directly by double clicking within the frame. In Dorico 6 however when I try to do that, I am presented with this popup
If I tick Do not show this again, next time I try to edit a frame directly, I cannot do that, but immediately the project info dialog is opened.
Is there a setting that can say to Dorico that I would like to edit my frames the old way I like and not to be directed to the project info?

Which button did you click after āDonāt show [ā¦] againā? I suppose Dorico memorizes your selection.

I clicked Edit Frame Contents. The next time however the Project info opened and there was no way to edit my frame directly. I had to completely uninstall Dorico and then install it again. And now I get this popup every time and am vary careful not to tick the box.
Ok, I guess thatās not what is intended. Anyway, I would be very surprised if there wasnāt some sort of settings record that could be accessed to reset such choices - I canāt really imagine that it should be really necessary to reinstall the whole application to reset this.
Just uncheck this Preferences box, you certainly donāt need to reinstall:

I agree though that this should be unnecessary. There should be a way to override this on an individual basis by Ctrl+clicking or something.

Where can I find that? Itās not showing up for me.
Itās in the Preferences dialog, all the way at the bottom of the Note Input and Editing section.

Thank you so much! I love 99% of the new additionsā¦this honestly isnāt one of them.
I understand it can be initially a little disconcerting, but I think this is a good thing in the long run. Far too many users end up with page overrides because they donāt know what theyāre doing (Iām not saying you are one of them). This will help people make changes the ācorrectā way.

This is a very valid point. Fortunately for me, I figured out the wonderful world of tokens/Project Info fairly early on. I made my own fair share of mistakes before I reached that point, of course, but I did learn. I just feel that this feature in its current state may end up causing more problems than it solves.
I really appreciate this new feature. I use flow names to structure my work, so previously I was having to write down on little bits of paper the names of the flows. And indeed I often got them mixed up and lost work.
[My cryptic names āTN1-4, CN3ā etc refer to libretto sections]
In fact Iād rather wish the navigation worked in both directions so that I could leap from the project structure back into the flow.
Another ākillerā feature would be thumb nail image popup of the flow start on the project structure, sorry
I guess the paint on this wonderful new version is not dry yet.
One final comment : Iāve never quite worked out why a flow seems to have two names and you can set them differently- or can you?
Iāll guess Iām doing something wrong (see XXX and YYY)

Hi aceastwood,
The reason is this: on the Flow name on the left (your XXX) is the Flow Title Dorico would use automatically, BUT you can set that differently by typing a different Title that the performers will see (your YYY), see the screenshot. This helps with your internal project organization.
See the item in Dorico Help: Steinberg
Thank you for explaining that. Iām glad I asked. Previously Iād just been confused.
Now that I can click directly on the title in the flow itself and it jumps to the project information I can always find the right flow.

Bumping this thread since I also immediately got snagged on this and had to search the forums to figure out how to tell Dorico āyes, I really do want to add a page override.ā I definitely clicked āEdit Frame Contentsā after ticking the box, but the default was still set to āopen project info.ā
I fully understand the rationale behind adding the new popup - itās a SUPER common mistake across all notation apps, so definitely keep it. But Sib***** remembered my choice when I ticked the ādo not show againā box.

I wouldnāt call replying to a thread that you didnāt start yourself or havenāt replied to before ābumpingā.
Absolutely, positively, clearly so!
Whoops - I guess I mean āsignal-boosting.ā
I didnāt get a chance to try Dorico 6 until today, but Iām really impressed so far! Great job Dorico team
