I haven’t been able to find any control over the X/Y Grid visibility.
Apps like Affinity Publisher have a separate options for customized appearance of the Main and the Subordinary grids:
Just I was looking for something more similar to one that exists in Affinity, in a separate section of the Preferences, or Engrave.
I was unable to find any information in the Manual. When you type Grids, or Engrave Grids, or X/Y Grids tons of topics about the Rhythmic Grids appear.
Probably some improvement in the Dorico Manual search engine could be made, in order to bring this information in front. Those suggestions are logical ( Engrave/ing Grids, or X/Y Grids, Page Grids).
Yes, I have checked the Grid Options, and the settings I needed to change wasn’t there.
I know that Dorico has own logic about the overall settings, but I think that everything related to the Grids should be placed inside the Grid Options, as it is organized in every other editor.
The default minor grid line color is one I like to call Apple Product Bold; that is, the text color Apple likes to use for 1-pixel-thick text on a brilliant white background, with no shadows.
Would be great if there are two sliders (with link and unlink option), to control the color appearance of the Grid lines and Subdivision lines, to make them darker, or lighter.
This the missing function in the Engrave > Grid Options.
I hope the team is going to add it!
I am aware that I can change the color appearance in the Preferences, but still it’s not the most proper way. The right and straightforward way is presented in all Publishing and Text editors that have grids. Everything is placed in the tool related to this option, and you don’t need to move to another option located in different menu just to customize it to your preferences.
