Dorico 6! No sound on playback

Dorico Diagnostics.zip (2.2 MB)

I am currently using Dorico 6 Pro. As a new user who switched from MuseScore just last month, I am still getting used to all the new features and controls.

Last month, everything worked perfectly, and playback was completely normal right after installation. However, yesterday when I opened my Dorico file, the audio suddenly stopped working.

I have tried every trick I could find online, but nothing has worked. The metronome is completely silent, and there is no sound coming from any of the instruments. I spent hours tweaking the Device Setup and Playback Template panels, and I even followed Dorico’s official troubleshooting video, but to no avail.

This has been incredibly frustrating, and I would really appreciate someone guiding me through this, as I simply cannot figure out what went wrong.

Hi @adenHo, welcome to the forum and sorry to hear about your trouble.

Please go to Edit > Device Setup and in there click on the Device Control Panel button, take a screenshot of the then appearing littlle dialog window and attach that here. Thanks

Hi. Is the Sample Rate relevant here?

Yes, it is. See, Dorico “thinks” it is 48kHz, but your headphones are set to 44.1kHz.

So you either set Dorico to 44.1kHz or your headphones to 48kHz.

And disable the input device since it is not used in Dorico anyway and adds even more complexity to the whole equation. So just click on the little X-mark in front to disable hte input device.

@Ulf Fixed! Thank you so much for your help. Cheers!
