I have been having dreadful trouble with bad distortion using Kontakt 7 and the Hammersmith Pro piano. Tearing my hair out. As a final thought I decided to upgrade to Kontakt 8. I had a gut feeling something in Kontakt 7 no longer likes my computer. I upgraded and voila, all distortion gone. I mention this here in case anybody is considering whether to update or not (it is quite expensive) when much of the internet says there is not much point (but these are not usually Dorico users). I am not saying this is going to solve all problems for all users, but I mention it as a reference point.
