Dorico and Reverence IN THE FX channel problem

In order to make the fx send work from any player I have to move the fx fader for each player every time I open the project. The project has over 60 players. This is not good.

Extremely frustrated with the crashing, bugs, inability to handle large projects. …about to leave dorico… the latest update seems to have given me a lot more. more crashes. Like dragging a note…don’t even think about doing it…crash…another 5 minutes of my life wasted…

i could spend an hour a day taking the to post the crashes…here’s a lovely bug that happens all the time and doesn’t stop until I restart the DAWg. The curser turns to a watch. what is this OS9?

why do I even try…
so after deleting and reinstalling no change.

I just want to add to the above the following video: when the watch thing happens, I can’t enter notes.

and since I can’t enter notes, and restarting again and again is out of the question, who do I contact about getting a refund?

so instead of getting any work done, ( I will probably lose this contract) I thought I’d sit here all night and watch this exciting feature from Stinkberg:

oh look! they can code the two things to work simultaneously. Impressive.

Perhaps you have pitch before duration selected? To enter a note, you would need to give it a duration!

Thanks for attaching the crash logs, Chris, and I’m very sorry that you’re running into a lot of problems with the new update.

The crash logs you’ve attached show a handful of different problems. Four of them show the same crash, which appears to be related to dragging notes with the mouse; this is a crash that a lot of users have experienced but which so far we have been unable to reproduce or fix in-house. A fifth one possibly is a variation on that theme.

Two of them show a crash when attempting to enable MIDI devices after, it looks like, switching between different open project windows and activating the newly-in-focus project for playback. It seems that maybe the audio engine has crashed at this point, though without any further diagnostics I can’t say for sure. If you could do Help > Create Diagnostic Report and attach the resulting zip file, that should also pick up any audio engine crash logs so we can take a look at them.

The remaining one shows a crash when destroying condensing-related data, presumably when closing the project.

It would be interesting to see the project itself. If it has 60+ players, Dorico will be working hard to keep things moving. You can email it to me at d dot spreadbury at steinberg dot de instead of attaching it here.
