PLEASE do not respond to this post! I’m sharing this here only because I was told it is the best way to give direct feedback about Dorico.
Besides Dorico’s incredible complexity, which borders on unintuuitive, it sometimes behaves like a 20-year-old app when starting up and closing a document, mainly due to issues with its audio engine. I’m using the latest macOS on a powerful MacBook Pro. This even happens with only a piano score.
I work with various DAWs and notation programs, including the free MuseScore Pro, and all of them are launching or closing much faster and smoother. It’s really frustrating when I get this “Dorico can’t connect to the audio engine”, or I try to close Dorico and see the spinning ball for five seconds. It seems like a programming hiccup. This has been an issue for years with Dorico and is sting there. So, maybe someday, they will find a way to make this go away.
PLEASE, DON’T RESPOND.
