Dorico Coordination line (solid) doesn't match barline width

Hello Dorico users!
I’m starting a “not-easy” project: an end-of-20th-century percussion score with cutaways and some pretty unusual notation. I’m trying to do as much as possible directly in Dorico before finishing things in Inkscape. I’m definitely testing the limits of the Cutaway tool, and today I noticed something strange: the default dashed coordination line perfectly matches the barline width, but when I switch it to solid, it becomes noticeably thinner.

This is due to the “Use barline width if applicable” option, at the top of the “Coordination Lines” page of Engraving Options. When this option is on, a coordination line that uses the default coordination line style (whatever that is) will use the barline width instead of the width defined in the line style itself.

Hi @paolopiano,
if you choose a Line Style in the Engraving Options of Coordination Lines, the mentioned checkmark will only influence that line style. If you use a combination of dashed and solid lines for your Coordination Lines, to avoid different thickness between solid and dashed coordination lines, I would suggest to create a custom line that has the standard barline width (1/5), to be used as override in the properties panel, when needed.

For example you choose, as global Engraving Option, a dashed line for your Coordination Lines, (and it will follow the standard barline thickness thanks to the checkmark). Then, when you need a solid coordination line, in the Properties panel you can choose your custom solid line (with the thickness at 1/5).

Here the workflow to create it, from menu Library>Lines… (follow the numbers). And save as default clicking on the star icon, if desired.
(If you are already familiar with this procedure, please ignore this):
