Dorico crashed + not able to find audio engine at re-open (diagnostic included)

I opened the Iconica trailer example project and played it, no issue.

Then I did scrubbing for about 15 seconds in that same project and suddenly the audio stopped.

Then tried to open another (already opened) very light project and Dorico crashed.

After opening Dorico again I got the “audio engine not found” message.

Attached the diagnostics zip.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Run Activity Monitor and look for any stalled Dorico and VST Audio Engine processes. Force quit any that you find, then wait a few seconds, and restart Dorico. Everything should now be working.

Thanks for your quick response @dspreadbury, that helped me to get it working again.

Any idea why the audio suddenly stopped during scrubbing?

(have a Macbook M1 and almost no applications running)

No, I’m afraid I don’t. There are no Dorico or audio engine crash logs in your diagnostics. I guess something caused the audio engine to hang, but I can’t say much more than that.

Ok, I hope then it won’t occur too often. Thanks anyway for having a look.
