Dorico Film Score Template

Hello, my Dorico friends. I wanted to post about this here since some of you may not have known about it yet.

I made my personal film scoring template available to the public a while back, and composers all over the world have been using and enjoying it. It’s the same template I use in all of my personal scoring and orchestration work, and the template that I give to all of my film scoring students.

You can find out more about the template here

And you can purchase the template here

Let me know if you have any questions about it!
As an aside, I offer active support and free updates for life to all customers.

Peace!

Hi Phillip,
Thanks a lot for the template which I purchased on Sat and am loving using today. I’m doing a little mock-up with the sketch template today (a bit of Marvin Hamlisch from Sophies Choice as it happens). Using Note Performer template in Dorico 5 and looking at the documentation you supply. Could have sworn I heard the woodwind staves defaulting to flute clarinet and bassoon across the two staves but maybe I’m wrong about that.

Anyway again thanks for all the work you have put in on this.

Thank you for the support, Simon!

I used the default Dorico sketch instruments for Woodwinds, Brass, and Strings in my sketch template.

From what I remember, the built-in Dorico sketch instrument for Woodwinds defaults to the Clarinet sound.

Brilliant Phillip! Thanks for this, just bought it.
Any idea of how getting Dorico react faster when having loads of notes and pages and flows? I am still struggling with the laggy GUI…
