Ah yes, it could well be a conflict with that key command on your system being commandeered/overridden at the OS level or by another application. This has come up before but a quick search didn’t bring up some of the topics I remember reading.
A common one is the register-selection key commands during note input not working for all pitches, because (iirc) Ctrl-B is bagsied on macOS by something else.
