Bonjour,
I do not find a hotkey for a REPEAT command.
To be more precise : to execute the latest command that has been done.
Does the Jump Bar get you close enough?
“ If you show the jump bar in Commands mode after performing a command, your previous entry is shown with its text selected.”
Bonjour,
It is not what i am searching for …
What I’m looking for is the ability to repeat the last command executed.
By analogy with Word or Excel, where it’s easy to execute a given command (e.g. putting a word in bold) with a single click and then do it on other words in the text as many times as you like.
It is in fact the possibility of executing the command that has already been executed.
The Jump Bar (which, somewhat confusingly, has a commands function) can serve as a way to get to commands for which no key commands have been set in Preferences or to those whose key commands you don’t remember.
Since it remembers the last command you’ve executed, I thought it would be helpful. (It’s “close,” as I wrote, since it’s admittedly not quite as quick and convenient as the cmd/ctrl + Y “redo” in those apps enabled to interpret that.)
Entering cmd/ctrl + B for boldface text in a word processor is actually analogous to any function in Dorico that has a key command assigned to it, either by default or by the user. So unless I’m misunderstanding you, just keep using that same key command, yes?
In other words, do a command once with the Jump Bar.
Then when you want to repeat it, JEnter.
This requires only that you have a valid selection for the given command, otherwise the command is not available in the Jump Bar.
