Can I make Dorico louder as a standard starting point. Ols and new projects? As I quickly fix something in a Dorico project, and suddenly I get a mail announce chime or some other notification, that is incredibly loud. Everything is always incredibly loud compared to Dorico/Noteperformer. I set the volume of Transcribe to 10% when I use it. I know there’s a mixer in Play mode, but do I really have to go there everytime, or is there a way to make Dorico twice as loud as a standard starting point?
Thank you, that is very helpful! I now set it to +6, but that is still very very soft. is there a way to put it higher?
Thanks! Yes, allready did that, ans that I also put un the maximum, every single time. I was wondering if there was a short way of doing that everytime Dorico starts. If every volume is at utter max, than it’s still ery soft, and I have to put down everything else, but it’s doable. Nobody else with this problem? I had it with my old Macbook, and now with the 2020 Air, Dorico 6 Running with the newest NotePerformer, it’s the same issue.
I guess you checked Library→Playback Options→Dynamics also. There is a save as default preset in NP also.

I really wonder why that is. I don’t remember ever having that problem. Could you please send diagnostic files, so that someone can track down what the problem is?
I’m surprised to hear that some people don’t have this problem!
Yes, you can boost the various volumes in the mixer, but at some point this starts to introduce distortion into playback, even though the absolute volume is not that high.
I had the same frustration with Finale.
Exactly! I’m not sure if it’s the softness of Dorico or the loudness of all the other sources that creates this problem. I’ll try to make a diagnostics file!
