Dorico Licence

I own Dorico Pro 6, but today, I quit and reopened Dorico, and noticed the “Engrave” menu was missing. I closed and reopened it again, and it reappeared. Later, I closed and reopened Dorico a third time and it went missing, now for good. I checked the Steinberg activation manager and noticed now that my license for Dorico Pro 6 is missing and Dorico SE 6 appears instead. I am a little upset, because I spent some money on that program and it appears to have vanished. I am wondering if anybody knows any remedy for this, because I also have to write a piece by my composition lesson on Saturday and am a little worried that I won’t be able to. Thank you for your time.

Welcome to the forum, @Henry_Golden!

It sounds like you had installed the Dorico trial, then purchased Dorico Pro but did not activate your license. So your installation has reverted to Dorico SE.

When you purchased Dorico, you received an email with a download access code. You need to open the Steinberg Download Assistant, click the Redeem Code button in the upper left, and enter this code. After that, go back to the Steinberg Activation Manager and click the refresh button in the upper left. The Activation Manager should then show that Dorico Pro 6 is activated, and Dorico should open as Pro.

Hello, thank you very much for your response! I really appreciate it. Have a nice day!

Unfortunately, when I use the code, it says that it has already been consumed. Also, I purchased Dorico back in October, so it hasn’t been running on the 60 day free trial.

I posted about this recently, but now have more information. I purchased Dorico Pro back in September, but it has vanished from my Steinberg Download Assistant, Steinberg Activation manager, and MySteinberg. I tried the redeem code again and it said that it had been consumed, meaning I haven’t been using the free trial.

In its place is Dorico SE, which was confusingly on another account, but that is unrelated. The main issue is that my Dorico Pro license has disappeared and I cannot write music nor edit any of my scores, which is obviously problematic.

Thank you for your time.

You should be able to log into your My Steinberg account and find your purchased license.
It sounds as if you were using more than one email account and probably setup two My Steinberg accounts.

Hello,

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately I have checked both email accounts to be sure and see nothing in both places.

Do you happen to have two My Steinberg accounts?
Have a look at the E-Mail from last September, when you purchased the License and take that as a starting point. I am sure your license will be recoverable.

Have you checked the license in your online profile? Just login to your profile on the Steinberg website and see what licenses are shown there.

You can also try to force the Activation Manager to a refresh as @asherber describes, but hold the Shift key for a full refresh.

In the Steinberg Activation Manager, how does it look like with you?
You don’t have an entry for Dorico 6 Pro like I have?

Henry, it is better to keep everything in one thread. Doubleposting will make solving your issue complicated.
May be one of the moderators kindly could merge the two threads:

I have contacted Henry privately to try to sort this out.
