Dorico macOS Tahoe app category

I finally upgraded to macOS Tahoe.

Seems like launchpad has been replaced by spotlight app search. This is something I’m not very pleased with - I previously had all Steinberg apps nicely organized in a launchpad folder.

What’s more surprising I found Dorico being sorted into Entertainment category. What’s the logic? Creativity or Productivity would be a more fitting category.

Since the app category is being decided by the developer, I am not able to move an app to another category. I’m just going to keep entertaining myself with some score writing.

Welcome to the modern times. With creative work now delegated to AI, AI recognizes any creative effort by humans as a mere amusement activity.

You may already have noticed that if you type steinberg into Spotlight’s search bar you’ll see a list of apps.

On my Mac it’s categorized as Music. I imagine this behavior is entirely Tahoe-based (as opposed to Dorico/Steinberg), but I’m not sure why our two machines would handle it differently. Hmm…
