Dorico MIDI keyboard C2 to G2 not working

Hello, I need help. I’m new in Dorico coming from Sibelius. When using a MIDI Keyboard, the keys C2 to G2 do not write the notes in Dorico 3.5.10, instead, they choose the notes values in the Notes Panel. How can I change that. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum, @amauri_montalvo. You don’t say whether you’re running on Windows or Mac, but can you try going to your user data folder and move the keycommands_en.json file (or the corresponding file for a particular languauge) out of the way temporarily, then restart the software?

The user data folder is here:

• Windows: %APPDATA%\Steinberg\Dorico 3.5
• macOS: /Users/your-username/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 3.5

Thank you very much, Daniel. Problem solved. I remember you when you were in Sibelius always helping out in a way that’s hard to beat. One question: What should I do now with the file I removed? If I put it back, the same thing happens again. I’m on a Mac.
Thank you again.

I’m glad that sorted it out. I suppose the question is why you had that custom key commands file in place to begin with. I assume you don’t remember assigning those MIDI shortcuts yourself at some point in the past? Have you installed any add-ons or received any files from other users with their recommendation to install them?

No, This is my first week using Dorico Pro and I have not installed anything from anyone.
I have two MIDI controlers. One is an old Axiom 49 and the other is a Yamaha Piano P70. I was using Dorico SE before (only a couple of times) and I had the same issue but i didn’t install anything and I didn’t know that I could do something like that. Can I delete the file that I remove or should I keep it?
Thank you again for all your help.

Yes, you can delete that file.
