Dorico only starts once per PC restart

I’m having the (seemingly somewhat common) issue where Dorico (v4.3.30) will only launch once per restart of my PC. However, it doesn’t seem to be the usual issue with VST Audio Engine not shutting down properly, and in fact I can’t seem to find anything running in Task Manager that looks related to Dorico.

When I try to start Dorico a second time, I get a brief blue circle cursor, and Dorico appears briefly under Background Processes in Task Manager at the same time (about 1.5 seconds), then disappears and nothing else happens.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi @Simon_Dawkins , welcome to the forum.
Really strange what you describe.
Dorico keeps always the logs from the last 10 runs so it would be interesting to see them. Therefore please do from the menu Help > Create Diagnostic Report and post the corresponding zip file here. Thanks

Thanks in advance Ulf! I’ve attached the report
Dorico Diagnostics.zip (2.9 MB)

Can you please do that what my colleague Paul lined out in this thread.
You only need to change when it tells about Dorico 3.5 to Dorico 4.

Perfect, thanks Ulf! Of the files in the renamed (old) AppData/Steinberg/Dorico 4 directory, whicch should I paste back in to the new one that was created to retain my preferences, settings, etc?
I’m not fully clear on why that directory was forced to re-generate along with deleting the stuff in Temp

Actually, you can restore the backed up folder in whole, since the offending files were in the temp folder.
