Make sure you are using the one for vst.

Of course, but for me, only the bottom-most highlighted VST enables the garbage can. This is a known issue, see this thread:

Delete VST Instrument

Could you maybe fix that? It’s annoying to have a lot of empty slots in the rack when using a multiple VSTis and the configurations keep changing.
