Dorico printing pdf with wrong dimensions

Hi all, sorry for another dumb/weird question on my new dorico installation.

I have the page layout set up to 8.5x11" in the layout options, for both the full score, and the part (although I’m only printing the part - it’s a single lead sheet).

However, when I print the pdf, I get a file that’s sized differently, 8.27x11.7:

Any ideas what’s going on?

Geoff, how exactly are you printing the pdf?
Are you using your macOS operating system’s “Print to pdf/Save as pdf” function, or are you using Dorico’s Print Mode and Export as Graphics?

Thanks Ben - Normally I use the Mac osx print function - hit print in the app as if were printing to a physical printer, and then just select the “pdf” function in the lower left.

I’l give the other way a go too.

Yes, and please tell us about the pdf dimensions you read out afterwards.
Basically Dorico will give you the exact sizes that you have specified in Layout Options - when exporting as Graphic / PDF.

If not the exact size, certainly the exact ratio of width to height.

It’s usually recommended to use Dorico’s print interface, rather than the system one; as there are reasons why you’ll get better results – both for printing to printer and exporting graphics.

ok, using the Dorico export method seems to work.

Strangely, after I exported through Dorico, the regular Mac osx export seems to work properly too. Weird.

Thanks all
