Dorico pro 6.3 project file freezes

Hi,

Since yesterday afternoon I’ve been experiencing freezes with a new project I’m working on.

I’ve tested other other projects and this latest one seems to have a problem.

I’m uploading a diagnostics Report & a sample project file.

I’m using 5 players, a VSL Synchron Harp & 5 Halion Solo Strings

So far, every time I try activating the VSTs the program freezes; I see the color circle and nothing else happens, so I have to force quit the program. When doing that it shows the Dorico is not responsive.

Any ideas as to why this is happening? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Contained in your diagnostics are 4 crash files of Dorico’s audio engine. That explains Dorico’s freezing because it waits for an answer from an audio engine that does not run any more.

Now, the crash files all point at ViennaSynchronHarp as the culprit of the crash.

So the best thing you can do now is, to get in touch with VSL and provide them the 4 crash files. Their engineers shall be able to load those into the debugger and find the cause. If you unzip your diagnostics file, there is a Crashes folder and in there the four *.ips files they are.

Hi Ulf, could you tell me what’s tripping another project I started for Harp and String Quintet?

I have all vsts turned off and I’m getting momentary stalls when I’m trying to score a 3 stroke tremolo to the harp part. Stalls are like small freezes.

Hi @algae592009 , your new diagnostics contain some hang files from Dorico, but my expertise is on the audio engine side. Therefore I need to call on my dear colleague @dspreadbury .

Thanks for your reply, and my apologies. So do I understand correctly that you’ve passed on the message to him or should I contact him myself?

See the @ sign in front of his name? With that you “mention” someone, that means the board sends automatically an e-mail to the mentioned person to let them know.
