Dorico project deactivates and reactivates everytime I copy and paste notes

Every time I copy and paste any figure, dynamics… anything and paste it to anoter instrument or bar in the same part, Dorico project deactvates and reactivates. The problem is taht it takes a few seconds to be again “re-connected”, so during this time I can’t do anything. I have to wait to continue working, and it freezes a few seconds after reactivation. I attach a short video showing this behaviour.

I have not found any parameter that I can change in the configuration to solve this issue.

I’m using he latest Dorico version (Version 6.2.30.6245 ) and Note Performer. I’ve tried with another Playback template. but the behaviour is the same.

Thanks in advance.

I notice that you have a video in this project. What happens if you remove the video?

I can reproduce the behavior with the playback toolbar flickering after a paste operation, but I’m not sure what you mean about not being able to do anything for a few seconds after that. I find that Dorico continues to be immediately responsive, including playback. This is true with or without a video attached in my project.

Hi: It’s not the playback toolbar, but the button to activate or deactivate the project. Although it’s just a moment, Dorico takes a few seconds after that to leave me click or doing anything. It seems to reloads the entire playback template each time.

It’s the same behaviour without video.

It’s the same behaviour without video. In fact, I’ve added the video today but I noticed the problem a few days ago, with no video in the project

That button is on the playback toolbar; for me, on Windows 11, the whole toolbar flickers, and that button briefly turns off and back on. But I’m not seeing any disruption in usability.

But it shouldn’t do this. The problem is the time (2-3 seconds) it takes to be “ready” again. If I click anywherre during these seconds, Dorico doesn’t react.

You’re right, the activation light does go off and on. But it’s a fraction of a second for me.

I’d suggest uploading a Diagnostic report, so the team can see why yours is taking so long.

I don’t know if it’s always done this, but I’ve never noticed it before.

I agree. I was just confirming that I see some of the same behavior that you do, but not the 2-3 second delay.

I never noticed it either. I can reproduce in 6.2.20, haven’t tried earlier versions.

Thanks. I attach here the disgnostics report.

I hope it helps..

Thank you very much. I hope it helps for Steinberg to solve it, being something that is reproductible

Notice that if you use Alt - click to copy the selection to a new location, it doesn’t happen. You should find this much faster.

I’ve tested Dorico 5, and that behaves in the same way.

Weirdly, the Noteperformer play template is being re-applied when you paste:

But when I paste, it’s a lot faster, even for a large document for full orchestra.
