Hi.
On my new PC I installed, via Download Assistant, Cubase AI 13, which works correctly (at least the few functions I have tried so far). With Cubase I also installed “HALion Sonic 7.1.0 - Instrument” and “HALion Sonic Selection - Content” (both recommended).
I also installed Dorico SE 5 and added “Indian Drum Basics” to the two HALion libraries already installed.
Dorico plays some accompanying scores correctly (e.g. those with the piano), but, for example, if I try to listen to “Iconica trailer”, Halion (called by Dorico) displays the message “Missing sound archive (double click to register), e.g. Euphonium_Leg+0_f_A#0_Sketch.tg3c”. The same if I try to listen to “Akinola - Dorico prelude” (with a message referring to another “.tg3c” file) etc.
Since there is no “.tg3c” files on my PC, does this mean that other libraries need to be installed in order to listen to all the scores supplied with Dorico? Or that I did something wrong?
Thank you.
Hmm, I would expect Dorico to be clever enough to automatically load the default playback template when opening those example projects. If you go to Play > Playback Template and apply the HALion Sonic Selection playback template, you should then be able to play back the project – though it won’t sound as good as intended, because it won’t be using the Iconica Sketch sounds for which it was written, as they are only included with Dorico Elements and Dorico Pro.
Thank you,
Now Dorico SE 5 works correctly on my PC.
