I am having serious issues with this update, with note input. It won’t recognize dotted quarter notes. It keep make it Quarter then eighth note pattern. Even with the dotted rhythm setting on. It is struggling with the note before input setting.
Likely a setting in notation options. Dorico may be trying to follow the meter. If you want to force-display a certain rhythm, press O before inputting the notes.
Is the issue perhaps that you have set Specify accidental, rhythm dot and articulations on the Note Input page of Preferences to a different value, so you’re expecting to specify the dot on the opposite side of specifying the duration or pitch?
