I’m using Audient ID44 as an audio interface. Even thaugh it enables a sampling rate of 96 000 Hz, everywhere in my system: Cubase, Windows, Dorico, I’ve got a format of 24 bits and 48 000 Hz configured by default. But each time I launch Dorico for the first time of the day, it goes back to 96 000 Hz. Event if I changed it the day before.
A few years back I used to have an iD14, and I seem to recall the Audient software that sits in the system tray had a setting to specify a default sample rate too, in addition to the Windows settings you already mentioned. In Dorico Preferences / Device Setup, what ASIO Driver are you using? Have you made sure both the Audient software and whatever ASIO driver you’re using are also set to 48kHz?
If those are set to 48kHz too, then the Steinberg folks will probably want you to go to Help / Create Diagnostic Report, and post the Diagnostics file here. After the Dorico switches the rate, you can also go to Users\yournamehere\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Dorico 4 and open the application.log file and see if there are any clues as to what is causing the rate change.
I don’t see what’s wrong. When I close my computer and reopen it later on or the next day, Dorico’s sample rate settings are back to 96 000Hz.
I’ll check the log to see if I can spot something.
Hi, as FredGUnn already mentioned, please do from the menu Help > Create Diagnostics Report and post the corresponding zip file here. I also need to see the audio engine logs and accompanying files. Thanks
Thank you for your time. Let’s put this topic on hold for a some time. Yesterday after booting my system and as I was looking at the different configurations, I noticed that Audient’s software displayed a sample rate of 96 000 Hz even thought I had configure it to 48 000, so I just opened a support ticket with them to see if the problem is on their side. I’ll be back as soon as I have received an answer. My assumption for now is that Audient’s software reinitialize the sample rate at 96 000 everytime I open my PC and Dorico reads that and changes its config accordingly.
I’m closing the topic…The problem was with Audient’s app preference file. It somehow got corrupted. I deleted it, restarted the system, changed the sample rate config in the app. And everything works fine now.
