Hi,
I am used to the following commands from another notation software which I find very comfortable:
for entrying dotted notes just click twice on the duration key (5 for eighth note…) and after that I can put in a dotted eighth note. So I can let my finger of the left hand on the keyboard and don’t have to search the point… Clicking again resets to undotted.
