I am new to Dorico. Is it possible to make Dorico write dotted rests? For example, I prefer a dotted eight note to an eight and a sixteenth. Also a dotted quarter to a quarter and an eight. This is possible (also globally) in Finale.
If the answer is no, do you plan to incorporate this feature in the future?

Yes, you can certainly do this: take a look at the Notation Options dialog, where you will find the various options that control how Dorico notates notes and rests in different meters.
Thank you very much. I have set everything to my liking. But how do I change the rests already written in the piece?
Try Edit > Reset appearance. Not sure it will work however…
