Double up lines of music for only one out the 5 Flows

I’ve done a large arrangement of the Nutcracker Ballet in a Suite Form.

The 1st movement (or Flow 1) requires that Violin I, Violin II & Viola read on two lines; in other words the sections split but ONLY for the first movement. Thereafter they read a single.

I don’t know how to print their music and maintain the Flow in the Orchestration. I’m not sure if this makes any sense to anyone.

This is in the score but now i need to create Violin I, Violin II and Viola part that has the strings split like this but ONLY for the first Flow. Thereafter it must revert to one line

Just create divisi when you need it (right-click>staff>change divisi…). And when finished (right-click>staff>restore unison).

I’m going to try,. Thanks a mil

I regularly create documents that have Violin I and Violin II Players for some flows, and “Violini Tutti” (a third Player) for other flows. The Violin 1 part contains Violin I and Tutti; Violin 2 part contains Violin II and Tutti.

Because no flow uses both Players at the same time, there is only one staff in the parts.

I describe the process in this video:
