Download assistant login failure

I have a brand new Computer…Windows 11 AMD. Bought Cubase 14 Pro fom Steiberg. Received an activation code from the receipt on e-mail.

But I can’t open the Download Assistance Error : Login failed due to a time difference. please syncronize your computer with the server.

My Steinberg products products is on usb e-licenser.

This typically means your time setting in Windows is not correct, first of all check (in the Windows settings) if your settings are configured to use a time server and the correct timezone.

Cubase 14 does not use the eLicenser, it is activated via the Activation Manager.

Anyone know why this should be an issue? I mean, what if you wanted/needed your computer on a different time zone for valid reasons?

I’ll presume it’s something similar to how Kerberos authentication works with things like “ticket life.” Synchronized time is used in all manner of authentication infrastructures and in cryptographic operations.

It’s SCIENCE Greta!

Googly grumbles into his gruel, “We should never have come down from the trees!”

I can tell by the quote that I should stop addressing you as the other. I shall cease this behavior! :stuck_out_tongue:

Just guessing, but it is possible that SDA looks at the timestamps to figure out what has been downloaded and what is new. There are several reasons to use the create or modify timestamps for file sync.
