I am using SpectraLayers Pro 11 in Cubase 13 as an ASA.
When I deploy “Unmix Song” it generates the various layers, if I then attempt to drag and drop a layer into the project window I receive the following message -
“Error: Medium type not supported or invalid medium”
If it’s small enough you might be able to upload it on the forum directly. Otherwise you can post a wetransfer link or any other hosting service. Please capture the whole screen.
Cool , I’ll probably need to post a WeTransfer but I’ll Forum upload a shot first. I assume the forum email is the correct address for the hosting service - WeTransfer link?
Hey Robin - I’ve just sent you a video, it was as we suspected too large for the conventional email so it’s on its way using Maildrop. If this doesn’t work out I’ll send it again/post it WeTransfer.
Thanks. It’s supposed to work that way.
It reminds me of an old issue I saw once a couple year ago, where for some reason the ffmpeg utility used to produce the .wav file to send to Cubase didn’t work as expected. After trying to drag and drop to Cubase, can you go to SpectraLayers Help menu > Support Info > Log output, copy all the text there and paste it here ?
Also when using the standalone SpectraLayers application, are you able to open a wav file, and are you able to export it as another wav file ?
That’s what I’m saying, it’s supposed to work that way. But on your computer it seems there’s an issue that prevents it. Please let me know about the log output and the other question when using it as a standalone application.
Sorry I misinterpreted your message "Thanks. It’s supposed to work that way” I thought you implied that it was supposed to behave like the video I sent you.
Here are the log outputs.
"Also when using the standalone SpectraLayers application, are you able to open a wav file, and are you able to export it as another wav file ?” - Yes I can export waves from the main File Menu “export layers” function
Ok, no error shows in the logs.
Can you open a text editor (any you would have on your mac, even Notes), and drag and drop from SpectraLayers ARA to your text editor ? This should write something like that :
Can you then check in the Finder that the .wav file mentioned in the tag actually exist ?
In my example it’s that line : <filename>/Users/divide/Documents/SpectraLayers Edits/Vocals (3091505818).wav</filename>
Just to be clear as an eliminator exercise I creates a new Cubase project. You can clearly see the .Wav file exists (I’m also pretty careful on the “Housekeeping" of audio files within Cubase).
Here’s the WeTransfer link of the screen recording
