Draw note at cursor position

I would like to be able to create chords adding notes above or below an existing single note. The additional notes need to start exactly at the same time. This is possible when the existing note is on the grid. But if the note is not on the grid? Like in Cubase, it need an align cursor to note start function, and then a draw note at cursor. I think this is a very important function. I miss it a lot in Cubasis. Is it possible it will be implemented in future updates?

Hi Ghillo,
In my photo I have selected a note that I want to copy from C and paste it on G, notice the Snap Tool is off (top right arrowed in red), the C note is not snapped to the start of bar 2, instead it sits just before it, so, this new note can be moved by first tapping the Y Move tab to lock its vertical movement (red arrow on left) with C selected, press Copy, now tap Paste, drag the duplicated note up to its required position, it will remain in exactly the same start position as the C note, unlock the Y Move tab to allow horizontal movements.
Hope this helps.
Mike

I forgot to add - the curser line needs to be positioned at the beginning of the note to be copied whilst the Snap Tool is disabled.

Thanks, good idea! It can work quite nicely, but there is a little problem with what you say in the last sentence: “the cursor needs to be positioned at the beginnig of the note”. Yes, but in Cubasis you have to do it manually. How? As you mention, disabling the snap tool, then zoom in a lot near the beginning of the selected note, then manually set the cursor line the closest possible to it. It is tedious, and even not perfectly precise way to do this (although it is enough precise). In Cubase (not Cubasis) there is a “snap cursor to selected note” function, so its super quick to do this. In my workflow I need to use this quite a bit, so I miss it in Cubasis. It would be a nice feature to add I think.

Edit: I tested the procedure. It works pretty well, it is ok to work in this way. I understand that the whole point of Cubasis (differently from Cubase - and in general IPad vs. keyboard+mouse workflow) is to keep the amount of options not too extensive, in order not to clutter too much the limited screen space and avoid lenghty menus (and actually this is something I love about Cubasis). So features of medium importance should be added with care, if it is possible to achieve the same result with a simple workaround using the existing tools available. So maybe a “snap to note” function can be avoided.
