Hi I’m considering buying Dreamtonics Syntheseizer V. Can anybody tell me how well the pro version is intergrated with Cubase. Do you record and edit just like another vst instrument like a piano or is it in its own system like fx Melodyne?
It is more akin to Melodyne. ARA2 allows DS-V to sync and chase playback to Cubase but editing is done within DS-V. The note editor is similar to Cubase key editor except you can enter lyrics inside each note. I think you can import MIDI files but I have not used that method. You can record live as well but again, I don’t use it that way. You can control a myriad of vocal parameters and like most synths the more time spent tweaking, the better it gets.
ok, thanks, think its too difficult workflow for my liking. I already got Em-voice and that is the same. Thought this was more intergrated, but thanks:)
Integration is quite good. Ara works reasonably well. Event editor is very familiar to Cubase users. Its all worth it for the Solaria voice!
Yes, +1 for Solaria. Do you have a recommendation for a male voice ?
I use Ninezero occasionally but that’s about it. Kevin is too bland except for bg vocals, and Asterian doesnt lend himself to my kind of writing. Im really looking forward to a kick ass male rocker that really works
I have Saros, who is a pretty good and versatile male voice. I like the sound of Hayden also. New voices are appearing all the time, so I’m very happy with Synth V.
Thanks guys,
I will have a closer look at these.
ok, but I’ve seen in a tutorial that you fx have to set the tempo to match cubase and that doesn’t seem integrated, but I can tell the voices sound great:)
Today, details of version 2 of Synth V (still under development) were shown for the first time. A lot is happening, and the performance has been significantly improved.
But above all, the control options for the voices have been significantly expanded.

The new version looks fantastic
Anyone tried the new version yet ?
There is an upgrade discount until Apr 20. Not sure about tariffs.
I was planning to get it before then so I have something new to play with after the economic collapse .
There are both very satisfied and disappointed users.
For detailed reviews, it’s worth checking out the Dreamtonics forum.
Here’s a thread that lists a whole series of shortcomings.
My personal impression is rather positive, although I do miss some features that were still available in V1, especially the manual mode.
Thanks P.A.T.
I decided to try it and upgraded late last night. Honestly, it seems like a rushed release. Running it standalone, I get periodic system freezes and need to reboot. They released a new update earlier today and I am about to install it.
