I’m trying to change a rimshot sample in a song but when I import another one it plays completely different compared to preview (I close mediabay so they don’t play together); this doesn’t happen with other kind of samples, like acoustic guitar or piano…
Can’t understand….
Art
p.s. it looks like it’s not due to different sample rate of the sample compared to project. Drum samples sound like they transient is cut… Nor transposing neither autostretch or musical mode activated
Are you triggering the sample, or just using the audio directly? I’ve noticed that when using the Drum Machine, the step resolution can affect the sound of the sample–a 1/8 or 1/16 resolution can sound different than a 1/16T resolution.
I tried both and the first issue was - and still is - while using audio directly, after importing it; sample plays ok if I pre listen it in pool
I hadn’t notice sample sound changing inside drum machine but today I’ve heard it but the sample play correctly if I reset pad before importing the sample itself (I had a full kit loaded); no need to reset if I load sample in an empty pad/drum machine.
Sample still plays ok when converting drum part to MIDI part.
I attach the original sample and the imported one after exporting it…. I had to convert them to .mp3 as .wav is not allowed for uploading but the change is absolutely clear…
Hi @Michael_Ill , you’re right, attack is the problem as I wrote in my previous post
and I also realized that if I reset the drum machine pad where I import the sample or I import it in a brand new kit everything works ok.
My still existing problem is when I import sample directly in project window… I have no master and/or track effects, automations, etc. but the sample play weird as well…
If I play it in the audio editor it plays ok…
So something in the project (window) has to be the reason but I can’t guess what; in the attachment the file when imported and when bounced in place, a test I did just to explore possibilities…
