Hi everyone,
I’m working on a project that requires “Hip Hop” sounds as found in the Halion Sonic 7 VST shipped with Dorico. I can’t seem to find a percussion map similar to the one I use in Noteperformer, where an “F” space = Kick and a “C” space = snare etc. etc.
Am I missing a map in my installation or do I have to create one from scratch? (Claude AI says that I simply need to us the GM map, but this doesn’t seem to be working for me…)
I appreciate any help and insight you can give me on this.
It looks like what you really need is to set your Preferences right.
Thank you Marc. I have my preference settings you so kindly copied the same as yours, with “Use Staff Position” set as you highlighted, but still no joy.

The first “Hip Hop” kit had sounds that were so different that I didn’t recognize their correlation to an acoustic drum set.

Me too. It seems as if the first “Hip Hop” kit’s kick drum sounded to me like a Tom and the snare sounded like a higher Tom. When I switched to the second “Hip Hop” set everything fell into place, the kick sounded like a kick and the snare sounded like a snare. Again, thanks Marc.
