Drumagog on 6.5 projects has no sound

Just tested this out, and confirmed over the phone with AAS (Applied Acoustics Systems) that there is a strange pause when you instantiate most AAS plugins with C7 x64 on Win 7.

Note: This did NOT happen with previous Cubase x64 versions.

TEST:

Win 7 Cubase 7 x64 (I tested C7.0.2 and the AAS guy tested his C7.0.0 over the phone with me):

  1. Open Cubase 7 x64

  2. Create Empty project

  3. Instantiate any of the following x64 AAS plugins into an Instrument track: Ultra Analog, String Studio, Strum Acoustic, Strum Electric or LL3.

  4. You will notice that Cubase basically freezes (try moving the plugin Window, for example) for about 3-10 seconds.

  5. Then, Cubase wakes up and everything is fine.

I’ve been able to reproduce this every time, and the AAS guy (very nice guy BTW), also reproduced it on his machine over the phone.

Note that AAS Tassman 4 does NOT freeze up. It loads perfectly quickly just like normal.

Assuming Cubase 7 is the culprit here. Maybe some change to the way VSTi plugins or patches are handled on instantiation now?
