I applied “Erase background” to the Text in Dynamics, but the letter “i” is now overlapping the vertical line. Is there a way to make the “i” visible without it overlapping the vertical line?

Sorry, k.k. it looks as if you have applied some white cover on top of the text. This is not, how Dorico displays dynamic text.
Hi @k.k, (although I don’t understand what you are showing, with that strange white background…) look in the properties panel (from engrave mode) where you can set Erase background (and change the padding if desired):
The line in the middle is not a bar line but an arpeggio sign.
So the text can’t have its background erased?
I did upload it.
Thank you for the file @k.k.
Erase background doesn’t erase lines or gliss. lines. The only way to simulate an erasure for those items is to use a text with white background.
Since Dynamic text (the one that is used by dynamic suffixes) uses a Font Style instead of a Paragraph style, you cannot set a white background.
I used staff text, instead of the suffix (the suffix is still activated and has just a bunch of empty spaces, to ensure an automatic staff spacing). The advantage is that with staff text you can assign a Paragraph style to it. I created a Paragraph Style with the same properties as the Dynamic text Font Style, but adding a white background to it ) which you cannot do with Font Styles.
Here the Result:
Here the paragraph Style (for the "fake"suffix):
Here the suffix (empty spaces)- This step is optional:
Here the Dorico file example:
