In most cases I like Dorico’s settings for gradual dynamics reaching across a bar line up to the next note, like here:
But maybe we could agree that this does not make too much sense (or might in fact be quite irritating) when the repeat dots are pointing in the other direction:
I would love Dorico to either have special parameters for this setting when crossing a repeat bar pointing to the left, or just to not cross such bar lines

If you select the hairpin and go into the properties panel, you can set the barline interaction so it doesn’t go past the barline.
Also, In Engraving Options, dynamics, advanced options–set hairpin to not cross barline.
I have in the past asked for a setting to never cross the barline when the next bar starts with a rest. This however is another valid edge case.

@lafin As I said at the very beginning, in principle I like the way they are allowed to reach over.
@tmrolls You are of course correct. But when you find yourself multiple times doing the same thing (switching options for all diminuendos before repeats) it’s time to ask for Dorico to help me 
@hrnbouma Oh, yes, it would indeed absolutely be nice to have crescendos not reach over when there is a rest at beat one of the next bar!
