Hi, I’m trying to write >mp<f dyncamics under this single quarter note. Any easy solutions? Dorico puts the dynamics in the next measure and when I try to get them there with engrave mode, I don’t have enough space and it’s fighting with me. I need it to give me more space for that single quarter to fit the dynamics there and adjust the rest of the measure accordingly. Thanks.
If you enter the dynamics with the caret, Dorico should adjust the horizontal spacing:
Thanks, I tried this at another instance and it worked but it doesn’t want to adjust the space when it’s the last note of the system (like in this case). It either enters the dynamics into the next measure in the next system or doesn’t enter them at all.
Thanks but I can’t even enter more than one dynamic under that note (like what you have in your example). It’s either hidden or moved to the next measure in the lower system
Strange, I just tried and it works on my end. Maybe your system is already (almost) full?
Ok, it worked, I just needed smaller subdivisions for the caret mode and the dynamics started appearing. Thank you!
Sorry, I forgot to mention it! In my examples, I indeed press 4 to get a sixteenth note.
